Ginseng
GINSENG s. Bot. Shrub, genus aralia, which grows in Tartary and Canada, and whose root, called the same name, is invigorating and stimulating: experience has not confirmed in Europe the wonderful properties with which the Chinese credit ginseng.
– Ginseng panax was formerly called quinquefolium, but it is today categorized in genus aralia. Its emollient root is regarded by the Chinese as a universal panacea.
