Description:

Peter Schlemihl is a character created by German writer Adelbert von Chamisso who appears in Peter Schlemihl’s Remarkable Story written in 1814. While looking for a job, Schlemihl meets the Devil, who offers to buy his shadow for the price of a purse that never runs out of money. Schlemihl accepts the deal, but soon discovers that his new-found wealth doesn’t make up for the loss of his shadow. The rest of the story consists for the most part of Schlemihl’s endeavors to recover his shadow without getting into even deeper trouble.
