View of the floating lighthouse stationed at the entrance of the port of Liverpool in 1869, showing the beacon and the column supporting it, as well as the underwater structure anchored to the seabed. According to the author, this device, designed by A. Freyer, used to rise about 130 ft (40 m) above sea level.
