Description:

Copper-plate engraving of two lion-tailed macaques (Macaca silenus), one depicted sitting, the other standing and leaning on a stick. The lion-tailed macaque is a monkey in the family Cercopithecidae, native to India and notable for the mane of white hair surrounding its face.

This plate was engraved after a watercolor sketch.
