Description:
A youth wearing nothing but a loincloth is seen from the side, leaning back against a piece of furniture as he reads an illuminated manuscript placed on a lectern. In the background, a painter can be seen working on a representation of the Way of the Cross. This lithograph was made from a painting exhibited at the 1833 Salon.
The caption reads in the original French: Giotto dans l’atelier de ciambue (Salon de 1833).
