Description:

Thirteenth or fourteenth-century gilt-copper fastener with enamel decoration showing the Annunciation and ornamental chimeras. According to Viollet-le-Duc, this piece of jewelry was probably made for an episcopal cope.

The caption reads in the original French: Agrafe en cuivre.
