Description:

The bushpig (Potamochoerus porcus) or red river hog is a wild pig species in the family Suidae . Found throughout the forests of Africa south of the Sahara, it lives in small family groups and is known for its omnivorous diet and strong social bonds. Bushpigs communicate within their groups through vocalizations and scent marking. With their powerful build and sharp tusks, they are capable of defending themselves and their young from potential predators.

The caption reads in the original French: Cochon d’eau à masque (Potamochœrus Africanus).
