Awful Bugaboo

A smiling and disheveled creature with a tail ending like an arrowhead is seen from the side riding a broom. The full verse reads:

There was an awful bugaboo
Whose eyes were red and hair was blue;
His teeth were long and sharp and white
And he went proling ’round at night.
