A-Chopping Wood

A woman stands in a courtyard, cutting wood with a billhook chopping tool while talking to another woman leaning out of a second-floor window, not paying much attention to the nanny who joins her with a baby in her arms.

In the introduction to this book, the Brothers Dalziel inform us that In some cases, the artist has illustrated the author's poem; in others, the authors have shown themselves willing to portray in words the ideas conveyed in the artists' original designs.
