Description:

A woman is seen from behind in front of a forest of naked tree trunks. In the foreground is a vegetation of grass and slender shrubs, with some autumn fruit such as grapes and pears lying on the ground. This illustration was first published in the Quiver, January 1866.

F. Sandys was very disappointed in the way his drawing was cut.
